No Way!
Jacqueline Laurita is telling it like it is. The star, who was rumored to be returning to Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey, wants everyone to know exactly how the talk went down ― and why she won’t be gracing Bravo’s airwaves anytime soon.
“Chris & I want to do something more meaningful with our lives,” she wrote to kick off her Twitter dish-sesh! “We are grateful for the platform #rhonj has given us, so we’d like to use that platform for something that brings value to others & a genuine reflection of who we are. Stay tuned...it’s coming. #ChrisandJacGivingBack.”
Twisted
She continued:
”Love how the media gets everything twisted.I was asked by an executive producer what it would take for me to come back to #RHONJ...I said full time and a whole new cast. Lol! (Dolores can stay.) I don’t like the direction it’s going in anymore.
Then, in another:
”I’m a very positive person & I’m very happy with my life. I love my family & I love my friends. I want to do positive things. I love sharing my journey & knowledge I’ve gained along the way. I love helping people and that’s what I am going to continue to do.@ChrisandJacGB”
Us Weekly also reported that Caroline Manzo, who was also approached to return, has also passed on the offer.
“It would be a major major decision that I would have to really think very long and very hard on,” she she said in a January 2018 interview with the outlet. “It’s not something that I would embrace wholeheartedly and say, ‘Let’s do this!’ It’s something that I would consider very, very heavily and for a long time.”
Hold Up
The producers of the series have been trying to find replacements for the Housewives who’ve taken steps away from the show in recent days, and apparently they were struggling for quite some time.
As Celebuzz! previously reported, RHONJ’s filming schedule was put on hold while the producers looked for replacements.
“Filming was supposed to start on February 1, and nothing has happened,” someone close to the show revealed to Radar Online at the time. The delay was said to be due in part to the fact that they haven’t been able to find a suitable replacement for Siggy Flicker, who left the show after alleging that the producers instructed her co-star Margaret Josephs to harass her constantly.
Fresh Meat
Things might have turned around for Bravo, though, as news broke earlier this month that they were screen-testing replacements for the cast members who left. According to a March 7 report from Radar Online, celebrity blogger Tom Morrow said that the two likely picks were Jackie Goldschneider and Jennifer Aydin.
Jackie is said to be a mother to four children (two sets of twins!), a writer for 201 Magazine, and writes for the Scary Mommy blog, while Jennifer is said to be close with former RHONJ star and Teresa Giudice’s cousin/arch-nemesis Kathie Wakile.
Moving On
Although Jacqueline seems sure about her decision to stay away, if it’s true that Jennifer Aydin and Jackie Goldschneider are joining the ladies, maybe she’ll reconsider. After all, her wish of an almost completely new cast would be fulfilled, and she has a history with Jackie as the new pick wrote a cover story on the Laurita family’s work in the Autism community for NorthJersey.com ― especially since she cited her lack of “authentic” relationships with the other women as a major reason for leaving the show in the first place.
That said, Bravo has yet to announce Siggy Flicker’s replacement or confirm that Goldschneider or Aydin were testing for the show.
